Paul slurs a whole group of people. In Titus 1:12-13, Paul agrees that Cretans are always liars, evil beasts and lazy gluttons. How can this even be logical? Paul says that one of their own says they are always liars, and exclaimed that this was true. How can this testimony even be true if they are always lying? For all he knows, he could’ve been lying to him. Calling someone an evil beast and lazy glutton wasn’t exactly a polite term. He agreed Cretans were evil beasts and lazy gluttons. Paul essentially passed judgment on an an entire island of citizens.
